Burning Permits

The Village of Germantown requires a burn permit to burn yard waste.  Burning permits are not needed for cooking fires, camp fires, grills or outdoor fire places. To view a copy of the Burning Ordinance click here.

Please call the Germantown Fire Department at 262-502-4701, or click here to email the GFD to obtain a burning permit.  Please include with your email:

  • First and Last Name with Middle initial
  • Drivers License Number and expiration date
  • Date of birth
  • Burn location
  • Address
  • Phone Number

No burning is authorized until you are in possession of a burning permit.  Permits are issued Monday through Friday between 8:00 and 4:30. If you wish to obtain a burning permit in person, they will be available at GFD Headquarters, located at N115 W18752 Edison Dr. during the same time period.
