October 2, 2019, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Community Library Community Meeting Room
The Kohl Family, along with Cindy Shaffer, would like to turn 40 acres of their family farm into an agricultural neighborhood.
An agricultural neighborhood or agrihood is an organized community that integrates agriculture into a residential neighborhood. The purpose of these communities is to facilitate food production while at the same time providing recreation for members of the community.
The project will have an onsite farmer who will work with residents to provide vegetables, fruits, flowers, bees, chicken, honey, mushrooms, and more. It will include a community kitchen for farm-to-table meals with the goal to have an onsite public restaurant. It will have 15-20 residential buildings with private entrances and garages for a total of approximately 256 people.
Shaffer Development would like to meet you in person at this session to answer questions. If you can not attend please go to shafferdevelopment.com and click on the “Shaffer Listens” tab to give us your feedback.
